It is a cool app, but I think it is one that you would use for a few days or a week and then never go back to. If they had added just a few more features I think it would have had some staying power. Still, there might be some younger kids who can stay interested and create some really interesting images.

David,
I'm in Lexington, considering conversion too. Sort of the opposite decision you made: going from a 38mpg Honda Civic to a haul/tow truck, and don't want the fuel or CO2 expense.

Any chance I could see your car, ask a few questions, etc. ?

I could meet you anywhere in town. Your car oughtn't be hard to miss with those rims, but I haven't seen it. Please let me know: mpatricksweeney@gmail.com. Less reliable is phone: 859 252 4623.

Thanks,
Patrick

Ah. It's 6 Megabytes not 6 Megapixels. I'm referring to the uncompressed file size, not the number of pixels.

I'm curious where you get that file size/resolution figure from... 1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels, or a smidge over 2MP... I could be wrong in the conversion, just curious.

Pretty neat what these new cameras can do, eh? My 7D has video and its pretty awesome to have a stellar video camera available at the flick of a switch.

I am definitely a fan of this app. It does definitely diminish the overall picture quality, but it makes up for it by virtue of simply doing its job. If your alternatives are: no picture because of a lack of light, or a lower quality picture via Night Camera...which will you go with?

I have watched this ever again and again since it came out. It's my favorite video on the Internet. Even though the Kentucky derby is long from over, I always watch this video when I want to hear something nice and do so very often. Thank you.

What is the name of that band featured in the beginning of the video? What is the name of that song? I love it.
